A woman, who killed her lover after he turned down her offer of marriage, and her accomplice (her brother-in-law) were sentenced to life imprisonment by Additional District and Sessions Judge DR Chalia here on Saturday.

The Judge held Robina, a resident of Pabra village, and her accomplice Surender (husband of Robina’s sister), a resident of Kharal village in Jind district, guilty of murder and awarded them life term. The police said that the duo had killed Jaipal, a resident of Jewra village in Hisar district, on October 27, 2016. The police recovered the body outside the village the same day.

The court also imposed a fine of Rs 5,000 on Robina and Rs 6,000 on Surender.
