Leader of the Congress Legislative Party Mukesh Agnihotri today charged that the Chief Minister’s office was being run by the RSS and the government was functioning under the pressure of the sangh. Addressing media persons here today, he said RSS activists, having little administrative experience, were managing the office of the Chief Minister.

Agnihotri said when the Congress government was in power, the BJP had been opposing the appointment of retired officers in the Chief Minister’s office. He said the officers appointed during the Congress regime were former IAS officers having long administrative experience. He, however, said the people now managing the office were only there to implement the agenda of the RSS rather than implement the agenda of development and welfare.

The Congress leader said the first 45 days of the BJP government had not promised anything positive for the people of the state, adding that the Chief Minister’s repeated trips to Delhi had yet failed to impress Union ministers. He said it appears that the Chief Minister had not been able to present his vision and requirements of the state with the NDA government.

Agnihotri said new financial year was round the corner and the government should issue directions to the district level officers to discuss priority issues with MLAs so that works needing immediate attention could be included in the MLA priority list and can be initiated at the start of the financial year. He rued that developmental issues were not getting the attention of the government.

Replying to a question, the CLP leader said after the Assembly elections, the state Congress was in the process of reorganizing itself and would soon be gearing up for the Lok Sabha elections. He said the twin issues of inflation and unemployment were enough to pin the BJP, adding that the NDA government had promised 2 crore jobs every year. He said the prices of diesel, petrol and LPG were beyond the reach of common man and in the name of jobs, the Prime Minister was advocating the unemployed to sell cutlets on the road side.
