Hailstorm, rain lash Shimla

Shimla, June 11

A severe hailstorm accompanied by heavy showers lashed Shimla and its surrounding areas on Monday afternoon causing marginal drop in the day temperature. The hailstorm lasted for about 45 minutes, forcing people to rush indoors. Normal life came to a standstill and busy bazaars wore a deserted look as tourists rushed indoors and waited for rains to stop.

The MeT office has predicted rains and thunder showers in mid hills over next six days from Tuesday and dry weather in lower and higher hills for the next three days and wet spell thereafter. — TNS
