Tempers flared in Baddi when residents found a green-coloured holy drape hanging from the window of a house in the Amravati Colony of the Baddi industrial area last evening. It seemed like a Pakistani flag.
Locals gathered outside the colony and raised anti-Pakistan slogans while terming it an anti-national activity.
Sensing the urgency of the situation, a police team rushed to the spot to enquire into the matter. The agitating residents demanded the removal of the flag and action against the family.
Superintendent of Police, Baddi, Rani Bindu, said enquiries revealed that the green holy drape was bearing religious inscription in Urdu and it was not a Pakistani flag.
The woman was alone at home when the police reached there. The SP said the crowd was dispersed after the police clarified that it was not a Pakistani flag. She added that no complaint had been received from any local.
