KANGRA: The Kangra valley was today lashed by rains after long dry spell and Dhauladhar mountain range experienced snowfall causing the temperature to plummet considerably.

The Kangra valley was today lashed by rains after long dry spell and Dhauladhar mountain range experienced snowfall causing the temperature to plummet considerably.

Following the drop in the temperature the valley shivered. The sky was overcast since this afternoon and it started raining in at 2.30 pm which continued till the evening.

The rains threw life out of gear and roads in this town were deserted due to chill and rains.

Heavy snowfall was experienced by the Dhauladhar mountain ranges creating intense cold wave conditions.

Today’s rains brought jubilation on the faces of the people, particularly farmers living in this valley. The agriculture was the worst affected due to the long dry spell and the people here were facing health problems due to dry weather.

These rains would prove beneficial to the farmers and others alike.

Some people were seen swarming around the bonfires lit in markets, while others preferred to remain indoors following the rains and chill. Reports of rains were also received from Shahpur, Gaggal, Rait , Nagrota Bagwan, Dharamsala, Mallan, Jawalamukhi, Dehra, Ranital and other places.
