Hamirpur admn forgets to hoist Tricolour at half mast

HAMIRPUR:The district administration here on Sunday forgot to hoist the National Flag half mast after national mourning was announced following the death and cremation of former Union Minister Arun Jaitely.

Hamirpur, August 25

The district administration here on Sunday forgot to hoist the National Flag half mast after national mourning was announced following the death and cremation of former Union Minister Arun Jaitely.

It was learnt that the Additional DC, after receiving the notification, had told the assistant commissioner to lower the National Flags at half mast. It is learnt that the AC did so at the DC office building but forgot to lower the flag hoisted on the 110-feet-high mast in the middle of the town. ADC Rattan Gautam said the AC was assigned the duty to lower the flags to half mast following national mourning. If it was not done, the matter would be investigated, he added. — OC
