HAMIRPUR: The website of the Information and Public Relations Department has been closed after the declaration of the Model Code of Conduct.

Hamirpur, March 17

The website of the Information and Public Relations Department has been closed after the declaration of the Model Code of Conduct. As a result, communication between scribes, general public and the government discontinued and further hindered the empanelment of news websites in the state.

Significantly, the site was closed on March 10, whereas the department notified people to download tender documents between March 11 and 16 for the empanelment of news websites with the department in its advertisement on March 9.

Harbans Singh Brascon, Director, Information and Public Relations, said the website was closed for the upgrade, following the enforcement of the poll code. He said the department would either consider canceling the process or rescheduling the dates for the empanelment of news websites. — OC
