Shimla, July 18
Four labourers were injured when a slab of an under-construction house collapsed following rain in Jghot near Kasumpti on the suburbs of Shimla here today.
One of them Maher Singh, who sustained serious injuries, was admitted to the IGMC, Shimla. Singh was given an immediate financial aid of Rs 10,000 by the district administration. All four labourers reportedly hailed from Sirmaur district, sources said.
Monsoon remained weak in the state. Shimla received 24 mm of rain in the past 24 hours. Ghamroor was the wettest with 49 mm, Naina Devi received 32 mm, Manali 28 mm, Kufri 26 mm, Dalhousie 18 mm, Kandaghat 13 mm, Guler Jawali and Kotkhai 12 mm each, Shimla 11 mm, Nagrota Surian 9 mm, Mashobra 8 mm, Kandaghat 6 mm, Bharari and Kasauli 5 mm each, Dharamsala and Mandi 4 mm each and Paonta Sahib 3 mm.
The Met Department has warned of heavy to very heavy rain in low and middle hills on July 22 and 23 and predicted a wet spell for six days.
There was no change in the minimum temperatures and Manali was the coldest at night with 13.5 degree C.
