A woman Raj Kumari (54) was beaten up brutally by youths near Bagli, about 6 km from Dharamsala, on Thursday.

She has lost four teeth in the attack. Though the police have registered an FIR, no arrests have been made.

The police had registered a case, however, the complainant Kanav Kumar, son of Raj Kumari, had alleged that he and his mother had disclosed the names of the accused but the police had not mentioned them in the FIR.

Kanav, while talking to The Tribune, said he had identified the accused as Sanju and Chau. While beating up his mother, the accused were calling each others by these names. Someone sent the photo of the accused Sanju to him on the Whatsapp.

“Those who attacked my mother are politically influential. That is why the police have not registered their names in the FIR,” Kanav said.

He said on October 25, they were going to Dugiari village. Two youths and a woman had parked their car in the middle of the bridge due to which they had to stop their car.

Kanav said, “I got down from the vehicle and requested them to remove their car from the bridge. The accused, who were allegedly under the influence of liquor, started thrashing me. My mother tried to save me but she was also beaten up. They tried to even throw my mother off the bridge,” he said.

He also said they had given the number of their vehicle, HP-39D-8261, to the police but no action had been taken.

The SHO of Gaggal Kuldeep Kumar Sharma said the complainant had failed to identify the accused due to which the names had not been included in the FIR, he said.

SP, Kangra, Santosh Patial, said action would be taken against the accused.
