SRINAGAR: The administration in the Kashmir division aims to eradicate foot and mouth disease (FMD) by 2030 as an ambitious drive to vaccinate 13 lakh animals has been launched in the region.

Asgar Hassan Samoon, Principal Secretary, Animal, Sheep and Fisheries Department, said the disease, which caused 100 per cent milk loss among the affected cows, would be eradicated by 2030. As part of the effort that aims to control and eradicate the disease by the next decade, an ambitious drive to vaccinate 13 lakh animals was launched in the Valley on Tuesday. TNS
