Drunk youth fires at waiter, arrested

KATHUA: A waiter was injured after he was shot at during a wedding at a resort in Kathua on Monday. The injured, identified as Mithu of Batala, Punjab, was rushed to the District Hospital, where his condition was stated to be out of danger.

The police arrested the accused in the wee hours of Tuesday in Kathua. He has been identified as Manpreet Singh of Chowadi in Jammu district. According to sources, a party was going on at GR Resort. When it was about to get over, some drunk men had a verbal spat with the waiters over a trivial issue and started ransacking the property of the resort. In the meantime, one of the youths fired three gunshots at them, resulting in an injury to one of them on his leg. OC
