Imran Raza Ansari, Minister for Information Technology, Technical Education and Higher Education, called on Governor NN Vohra here on Saturday.
Ansari discussed with the Governor several major issues relating to the management of the higher education sector, particularly the functioning of the University of Kashmir, and some matters relating to Jammu University.
The Governor reiterated concern regarding the crucial responsibility of the Higher Education Department to ensure the provision of quality educational facilities for students at all levels, as only such advancement could promote the future growth and development of the state.
Vohra advised the minister to ensure initiation of the required measures to give impetus to the organisation of sustained sports activities in all colleges and universities in the state. — TNS
