In an acknowledgment, the dean of academic affairs, University of Kashmir (KU), has written to the teaching fraternity of the university, appreciating their efforts to maintain punctuality, despite the unstable conditions in the Valley.
Professor Akbar Maqsood, in the letter to teachers, has stated, “It gives me great satisfaction that I write this letter to formally recognise and acknowledge the commitment of the teaching fraternity for their punctuality, even in the adverse situations that we are often faced with for the past so many years”.
“The education of students often gets affected due to the shutdowns, curfews and unstable political conditions in the Valley. But institutions like University of Kashmir try to conduct classes despite difficulties. Often, the teachers attend the classes despite the unavailability of public transport,” it read.
The dean has said that recently he, along with a team, visited various departments on the main campus of the university and 90-95 per cent of the faculty was present, despite the transport strike.
“This is indeed a commendable and appreciable effort. It is this spirit of dedication and commitment of the fraternity that has seen the university achieve a very decent grade in the recently held NAAC assessment,” the letter stated.
