PHE Secretary reviews status of Jal Bhawan

JAMMU: Farooq Ahmad Shah, Secretary, PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control, on Tuesday visited the Jal Bhawan construction site at Narwal.



Jammu, January 15

Farooq Ahmad Shah, Secretary, PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control, on Tuesday visited the Jal Bhawan construction site at Narwal.

During the visit, Shah inspected various ongoing works. The Jal Bhawan is being constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 7.48 crore and is likely to be completed by October this year.

With the completion of the bhawan, the facility will cater to accommodation of offices of the Chief Engineer, PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control, Jammu, and its allied departments. The offices will function under one roof for the convenience of people. The Secretary directed the officials concerned to speed up the pace of ongoing works and complete them within the set time frame. He also inspected the departmental preparedness for the upcoming Republic Day.

Later, Shah also visited various sites along the Ranbir Canal to take stock of preparations for de-silting works which will be started soon. — TNS
