Rs 147 cr given for salary of SSA teachers

Srinagar, February 11

In an order issued by the Secretary to the school education department, an amount of Rs 147 crore has been released for the salary of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) teachers.

The order was issued by Secretary, school education department, Ajeet Kumar Sahoo. The funds have been released for the current financial year.

“Sanction is hereby accorded to the advance withdrawal of Rs 147 crore as grant by the Director Finance for further placement of the same at the dispose of State Project Director, SSA, to meet the salary requirement of SSA teachers for the current financial year 2018-19,” the order said.

The order said the expenditure shall be subject to conditions, like the SSA accounts officer vouching safe availability of funds under the relevant account head for the purpose. — TNS
