Phagwara: A motorcyclist was killed on the spot, while two of his friends sustained injuries when their bike dashed against a drain cover near Goraya on Friday. They were on their way to Ludhiana. The deceased has been identified as Harjinder Singh Mehmi, a resident of Goraya. The injured were admitted in a hospital in Goraya. OC
Man commits suicide
Phagwara: Amarjit Singh (30), a resident of Goraya, reportedly committed suicide by hanging himself from the ceiling of his house in Goraya on Friday. Stress was said to be the cause behind committing the suicide. A case has been registered in this regard and the body has been sent for postmortem.OC
Woman raped
Tarn Taran: Gurpreet Singh Gopi of Jaur Singh Wala has been booked for allegedly raping a woman of the same village. The incident occurred more than 10 days ago and the case was registered on Saturday. The accused has been booked under the IPC. OC
