3 arrested in PPR Mall firing case

JALANDHAR: The city police today arrested three persons in connection with the firing incident reported at the PPR mall on Monday.

The city police today arrested three persons in connection with the firing incident reported at the PPR mall on Monday.

The accused were identified as Harmanpreet Singh, Govind and Honey.

According to police sources, the youths had attended a birthday party at a hotel in the city. Two of the youths, Simran Randhawa and Siddhant, however, entered into a brawl over an issue over a cigarette and even threatened to kill each other.

Following this, they called their friends and went to the PPR mall, where the raging brawl turned intense and one group even fired on the spot.

Incidentally, two journalists, running a news portal too, were present there and tried to make a film of the incident. This perturbed one of the groups and members of their group even fired at them, but they were saved miraculously after the bullet passed by them after damaging a windowpane of their car.

Though the police have arrested three people, it is yet to arrest the main accused Sunny Dhaliwal, Sidhant, Karan, Simran Randhawa and 49 more youths accompanying them during the incident.
