The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) today raided a city-based unit of scaffolding in a over three year-old case.
Allegedly, to avail more duty drawback, which is an incentive being provided by the Central Government to exporters, the unit used to issue inflated bills of goods exported to Dubai. But the department detected the mischief when they compared the actual weight of goods with that of the mentioned in the bills.
As per information, around three years ago, the DRI had sent notices to around 10 units of the city which were found indulged in such transactions and in the continuation of that matter, the DRI visited and checked the records of the unit.
