CT Public School observed ‘World Water Day’ here today. Er Lupinder Kumar, Sub Divisional Soil Conservation Officer (SDSCO), interacted with students on the significance and sustainable management of water resources.

He was accompanied by two Soil Conservation Officers Er Seema and Er Sumit. A presentation was presented by Lupinder Kumar to create awareness among students about the importance of the conservation of this valuable finite resource for the future generation and explored numerous positive and negative impacts that the activity has on natural resources.

He said: “Water plays an important role in daily lives of people, whether at home or in the industry. The greatest threat to our planet is the belief that someone else will save the water.”

Principal Daljeet Singh applauded the efforts of the soil conservation officers in serving the humanity and encouraged students to use this precious resource judiciously.

Stickers related to save water were released at Girls Senior Secondary School, Nehru Garden.

Suggesting various measures, the soil conservation officers at Nehru Garden School released various stickers that apprise students of saving water.

They asked the students to save water in their day-to-day lives. “Taking bath with bucket, a person consumes 18 liters of water, while using a shower the usage is approx 100 liters. Likewise, we should brush our teeth with water in a mug rather than with running water; washing car with a wet cloth rather than flowing water which is a daily scenario,” they added.
