Minister assures to revive industry in state

HOSHIARPUR: While talking to youth State’s Industry and Commerce Minister Sunder Sham Arora said the state government was creating conducive environment for industries, due to which the industrialists were establishing industries in the state.

While talking to youth State’s Industry and Commerce Minister Sunder Sham Arora said the state government was creating conducive environment for industries, due to which the industrialists were establishing industries in the state. Having industries at large scale will create more employment opportunities.

He was addressing the youth while The Minister inaugurated the office of District Bureau of Employment and Enterprises at Multi Skill Development Centre here today. Arora said the state government was providing maximum employment opportunities to youth under the Home to Home Employment Plan, adding that under this scheme, new office of the District Employment and Business Bureau, equipped with ultra modern facilities has been built with the cost of Rs 58.40 lakh.

“Apart from assistance for employment generation, the office will also provide career guidance, counseling, skill development and entrepreneurship training,” he added.

The minister said in order to promote self-employment, youth were being motivated to start their own business, adding that under the scheme, the District Level Committee has sanctioned loans worth Rs 9.02 crore to 131 applicants through different banks in the district.

He said the initiative would provide employment to 383 people. Seven persons got their self-employment bank loans and clearance letters.

Arora released a special book for awareness under the Home to Home Employment Plan. Deputy Commissioners Esha Kalia and Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development) Harbir Singh, were also present.
