Praveen Abrol, a city-based social activist, has come up with a Punjabi book titled ‘Adarsh Jeevan Janch’ based on her life experiences that taught her to live a life based on principles.

A member of the panel of city and rural police that deals in reconciliation in matrimonial disputes, Abrol has penned the 61-chapter book that deals with various cases she has experienced.

She said: “If woman is given due respect by her in-laws family and she, in return, performs her duties well, there cannot be any issue at all, adding that her book is a guide to all men and women leading a distressful life because of marriage-related issues.”

“The 61 chapters have topics like ‘Women as pillar of the society’, ‘Celebrating Lohri of girl child’, ‘Need for women to read newspapers daily’, and ‘Why all curbs only for women’. Some of these topics also deal in promoting Punjabi as the mother tongue. Most of these topics of hers have appeared as articles in Punjabi dailies,” she added.

She said: “I have learnt Punjabi till Class VIII but somehow got into the habit of reading Punjabi newspapers. I started contributing my write-ups and that’s how the passion to write began.”

Abrol said she had gifted her book to actress Hema Malini and Navdeep Singh Suri, Indian Ambassador in UAE and grandson of Punjabi novelist Nanak Singh, adding that some of her contacts were asking for a Hindi translation of her book, on which she was now working.
