Expressing their solidarity with Gurbaksh Singh Khalsa who has been on a hunger strike over the issue of release of Sikh political prisoners, members of the various Sikh organisations sat in front of the DC office here today.

The members of Panthic Talmel Committee also later held a press conference on the issue. The members including Tejinder Singh Pardesi, Baljit Singh Ahluwalia, Kanwaljit Singh Tony and Bhupinder Singh raised the issue and sent a memorandum to the government on the matter. They also demanded that the 2003 Nanakshahi calendar was more close to the Sikh sentiments and should be accepted rather than the Bikrami calendar.
