Two houses burgled

Phagwara: Two incidents of theft were reported here on Sunday night. In the first incident, the house of Vikki Kumar was reportedly burgled at New Dhyan Singh Colony here on Sunday night. The burglars entered the house after breaking the locks and took away silver ornaments and Rs 10,000 with them. The police have registered a case. In the second incident, the house of Deepak Sareen was reportedly burgled at Hadiabad, a suburb of Phagwara, on Sunday. The burglars decamped with Rs 11,000 and two pairs of gold earrings, the police said. OC

Youth run over by train

Phagwara: One unidentified youth was run over under a train near Satnampura railway crossing here on Sunday night. Government Railway Police have registered a case and kept the body in mortuary for identification after post-mortem examination which was conducted at the Civil Hospital. OC

Phagwara: Dr S Rajan, an eye surgeon, was unanimously elected as president of the Indian Medical Association, Phagwara, for the year 2018.This was stated by IMA, Phagwara, president Dr Anil Tandon in a press release here on Monday. OC
