Over a dozen braid-chopping incidents have been reported in the city in the past one week.

Over a dozen braid-chopping incidents have been reported in the city in the past one week. Five alleged braid-chopping incidents were reported in the city today as well.

However, none of them could reveal exactly how it happened. Rather, they only said they felt sudden pressure on the head and they became unconscious and later when they regained consciousness, they found their braids chopped.

Two women were also to the hospital for treatment. The police were also informed.

Vikram, husband of Rajni of Karabara Road, said his wife was alone at home, when she fainted and when she regained senses, she found her braid chopped. In the same locality, a woman Darshana said her braid was chopped when she was sitting in her room alone.

Sharanjit Kaur, a student of Class 10, said she had a headache in the wee hours and when she woke up, she found her braid chopped. Vandna of Gurunanak Nagar, said she was sleeping in her room in the afternoon and was shocked to see her chopped hair on the bed. Aarti (13) of Haibowal Kalan said she had gone to attend some function and when she came home in the wee hours, her mother noticed her chopped braid. The probe in all cases has begun.— TNS
