Ludhiana, February 16
Department of Psychiatry at Dayanand Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) in association with the Indian Psychiatry Society organised a CME on “Child and adolescent psychiatry”. The conference was attended by 200 delegates.
The event was inaugurated by the guests of honour, inlcuding Dr BL Goyal and Dr RL Narang.
Dr Ranjive Mahajan, chief organiser, extended a warm welcome to the delegates and dignitaries. Dr Ranjive said purpose of conducting the conference was to update participant delegates in the field of child and adolescent psychiatry.
Dr Navkiran Mahajan, co-organising chairman, said child and adolescent psychiatry is the need of the hour as it focuses on diagnosing and treating behavioral and thought disorders in children for their balanced growth. She gave an elaborate lecture on “Normal development of child”.
Dr Rupesh Chaudhary, president, PUNCIPS, said scientific sessions during the conference would discuss latest updates in the field of child and adolescent psychiatry.
The CME commenced with lectures on “Evaluation of child in clinical psychiatry” by Dr Ruchita and Dr Akhilesh from the PGIMER, Chandigarh, followed by lectures on “Management in ASD” by Dr Priti Arun, Dr Shivangi Mehta, Dr Deepti Raina and Archana Sharma from the GMC Chandigarh, “Behavioural addictions in children and adolescents” by Dr Rachana Bhargav from the AIIMS, New Delhi.
