Haryana trader points gun at shopkeeper

LUDHIANA: The Moti Nagar police have arrested a businessman from Jind in Haryana for pointing a gun at a shopkeeper here.

The Moti Nagar police have arrested a businessman from Jind in Haryana for pointing a gun at a shopkeeper here. The suspect has been identified as Ravinder Kumar, a resident of Roop Nagar, Jind.Charanjit Singh, ASI, said on December 12, Baldev Singh, a resident of Guru Teg Bahadur Nagar, had lodged a complaint with the Moti Nagar police station that Ravinder, owner of Touch Enterprises based in Haryana, had pointed a gun at him at his shop.

“I was an agent of Ravinder’s company and sold his products. I had collected a huge sum of money from the city residents and deposited it in his account. But the suspect failed to supply the products ordered by me. When I asked the suspect about the non-supply of products, he turned furious. On December 12, he came to my shop and pointed a gun at me. He also thrashed me,” Baldev told the police.

The ASI said initially, the police had initiated legal proceedings under Section 107/51, CrPC. Later when suspect was frisked, the police recovered a .32-bore revolver along with 12 cartridges from his pocket. When Ravinder was asked to produce the licence of the weapon and permission to carry it in Punjab, he failed. He told the police that he had an all-India licence. But when he failed to produce it, one more section was added to the FIR.
