Congress party in Ludhiana got a big boost today when senior leaders of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) headed by party’s minority wing general secretary, Anurag Paul joined the Congress party in the presence of Congress candidate, Ravneet Singh Bittu at Civil Lines, Ludhiana, here today.
The other leaders who joined Congress along with Paul included state secretary RN Yadav, district president minority wing Irfan, district coordinator Iqbal Gill, coordinator Youth Wing Bablu, active member Bawinder Singh, general secretary District Youth Wing, Rakesh Gill, President Punjab Christian Movement Robert Phillip, Danny Randhawa, Secretary Johnson Gill and Sam Dogar.
Meanwhile, during an election meeting held at Bhanohar village last night, six former panchayat members Pritpal Singh, Ranjit Singh, Rajan Mohit, Beant Singh, Ajit Singh and Gurmeet Singh and several families joined the Congress. These former panchayat members joined Congress after being inspired by senior Congress leaders Major Singh Bhaini, sarpanch Sukhbir Kaur and Sukhpal Singh Shampy.
Bittu claimed that there was a strong wave blowing in favour of Congress across the country and the UPA would form the next government at Centre.
