Visiting a sex worker in the Transport Nagar area cost a youth, Rahil Mohammad (28) his life yesterday. As he was making payment to one of the sex workers, four persons noticed huge cash he was carrying. They stabbed Rahil to death and took away the cash.
Yesterday, Rahil Mohammad, a factory worker, along with his nephew Avesh Aslam, decided to visit sex workers in the Transport Nagar area. Narrating the incident, Aslam said he and his uncle settled payment with two sex workers and separated after that. At the time of making payment to a sex worker, the assailants noticed huge cash Rahil was carrying.
The Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (ADCP-I), Ratan Singh Brar, said Rahil had approximately Rs 20,000 in his pocket which the accused noticed. With intention to rob Rahil, the accused stabbed him to death. The accused, Vivek Kumar and Sushil Kumar of Keerti Nagar, have been arrested while their accomplices, Ankur Kumar and Ranjeet Kumar, have absconded.
The police have also rounded up the two sex workers of Ajeet Nagar. The police said as per Aslam’s statement, he heard the screams of his uncle. He saw a few persons stabbing Rahil. Aslam got scared as he was alone. He escaped from there to seek help. After some time when Aslam returned with some residents of his locality, he saw Rahil lying in a pool of blood. He was rushed to a private hospital on Brown Road where the doctors declared him dead on arrival.
On getting information, the police reached the hospital and registered an FIR on a statement of Aslam.
The ADCP said police investigation was on and it was suspected that the accused had criminal history.
