LUDHIANA: In order to cater to the extra rush of rail passengers, the Northern Railway authorities have decided to enhance the carrying capacity of certain express trains on a temporary basis and extend the run of other special trains.

In order to cater to the extra rush of rail passengers, the Northern Railway authorities have decided to enhance the carrying capacity of certain express trains on a temporary basis and extend the run of other special trains.

The 12484/12485 Amritsar-Kochuveli-Amritsar Express will be provided with an additional sleeper class coach from October 4 to November 29 while departing from Amritsar, and from October 7 to December 2, when departing from Kochuveli.

Similarly, the 12029/12030 New Delhi-Amritsar-New Delhi Swarna Shatabdi Express will be augmented by one additional chair car coach from October 2 to November 30 from both directions and the 12265/12266 Delhi (Sarai Rohilla)-Jammu Tawi-Delhi Duronto Express will have one additional AC 2-tier coach from October 2 when departing from Delhi Sarai Rohilla, and from October 3 to November 30, when departing from Jammu Tawi.

Meanwhile, in view of the coming festivals and increased rush of passengers, the Railways has announced to extend the run of special trains, which would make 176 additional trips.

The 04401/04402 Anand Vihar Terminus–Shrimata Vaishno Devi Katra Tri-Weekly Express special train will be extended to run from October 1 to November 30 from Anand Vihar Terminus and from October 2 to December 1 from Mata Vaishno Devi-Katra (27 trips in each direction).

The 04926/04925 Chandigarh-Ludhiana-Chandigarh daily passenger special train will also be extended to run from October 1 to November 30 (61 trips in each direction).
