Two bike-borne persons snatch purse from woman

LUDHIANA: Two unidentified persons snatched purse from a woman in the Rajguru Nagar area last evening.

Two unidentified persons snatched purse from a woman in the Rajguru Nagar area last evening. The snatchers targeted the victim at the backside of MBD Mall on the Ferozepur road when she was going towards her home on a rickshaw.

The police have registered a case against unidentified persons under Section 379 B, IPC, on the victim’s complaint and launched an investigation.

In her complaint to the police, Aarti Girdhar, a resident of Jagjit Nagar on the Tharike road, stated that she was returning home on a rickshaw from market yesterday evening. She said, “When I reached backside of the MBD Mall, two unidentified youths on a bike arrived and pointed something like knife towards me and looted my purse before fleeing from the spot.”

According to the victim, there was Rs 17,000 in cash, four ATM cards and some other important documents in the purse.

Investigating officer, ASI Sulakhan Singh said, “A case has been registered against unidentified persons at the Sarabha Nagar police station. We have launched a probe. The police are scanning footage of the CCTV cameras installed in the nearby area where the incident took place for clues.”
