22-year-old NRI woman ‘raped’ in hotel room in Delhi

NEW DELHI: A man has been arrested for allegedly raping a 22-year-old NRI woman at a hotel in central Delhi''s Nabi Karim area. The police said the 25-year-old suspect belongs to Haryana.

The woman had come to India on a study visa from the US.



New Delhi, May 27

A man has been arrested for allegedly raping a 22-year-old NRI woman at a hotel in central Delhi's Nabi Karim area. The police said the 25-year-old suspect belongs to Haryana.

According to the victim, she befriended three persons after coming to India and they invited her for a party at the hotel on Wednesday.

She alleged that the suspect raped her in the hotel room when the other two went out to buy something. The police said the woman had come to India on a study visa from the US.

A case was registered against the suspect and he was arrested yesterday. The police have also seized the CCTV footage and the log book of the hotel, they said.

The suspect was produced before a Delhi Court, which sent him to 14 days' judicial custody.

The victim recorded her statement before a magistrate today, police added. —PTI
