BJP president Amit Shah today blamed the ruling Congress for illegal migration from Bangladesh.

He said the “reported alliance” between the Congress and the All-India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) led by Badaruddin Ajmal would ensure that the problem of illegal migration (from Bangladesh) remains a burning issue in Assam.

He was addressing a rally of party workers at Dibrugarh city in presence of the party’s organising secretary Ram Lal, state BJP president Sarbananda Sonowal and all other important party leaders in the state.

Launching the ‘Congress-hatao’ drive in the poll-bound state, the BJP president said, “If you want a developed Assam and respite from illegal migration from Bangladesh, rampant corruption, misgovernance, the answer is the BJP. ”
