Hitting the campaign trail in poll-bound Manipur, senior BJP leader and Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh today attacked the ruling Congress government headed by Okram Ibobi Singh for trying to exploit the continued economic blockade imposed by the United Naga Council (UNC) in the forthcoming Assembly polls.

Addressing a public rally at Utlou in Bishnupur and at a meeting of intellectuals in MFDC Hall in Imphal today, Rajnath alleged that the three-month economic blockade imposed by the UNC on the arterial national highways could not be resolved because the ruling Congress wanted it to linger on so that it could divert people’s attention from its failures and exploit grievances of the blockade-hit population during polls.
