PATNA: The NDA has maintained a lead over the opposition ‘mahagathbandhan’ alliance on 38 out of the 40 Lok Sabha seats in Bihar.

The NDA has maintained a lead over the opposition ‘mahagathbandhan’ alliance on 38 out of the 40 Lok Sabha seats in Bihar.
 
The RJD is leading on two seats. In the Patlipura constituency, RJD nominee Misa Bharti has managed to maintain a thin lead over BJP candidate and Union Minister Ram Kripal Yadav. Bharti is leading with 6,337 votes.
 
In the high-profile Patna constituency, Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad of the BJP is leading by 74,150 votes.
 
In the hotly contested Begusarai seat, Kanhaiya Kumar is trailing behind BJP’s Giriraj Singh, who has a lead of 1,53,712 votes. 
 
In the Arrah constituency, Union Minister RK Singh has a lead of 48,212 votes over Raju Yadav of the CPI(ML). 
 
In Buxar, Union Minister and BJP nominee Ashwani Kumar Chaubey is locked in a close contest with RJD’s Jagata Nand Singh. Chaubey currently is leading by 22,983 votes. 
 
In Bihar, Gopal Jee Thakur of the BJP is leading with a huge margin of two lakh votes in the Darbhanga constituency. Thakur is pitted against RJD’s Abdul Badi Siddiqui.
 
In Saran, BJP candidate and Union Minister Rajiv Pratap Rudy has a lead of 53,100 votes over RJD candidate Chandrika Rai, a relative of Lalu Prasad.
 
So far, former NDA convener and RJD nominee Sharad Yadav has been trailing behind JD(U) candidate Dinesh Chandra Yadav, who has maintained a lead of 60,025 votes.
