PATNA: Actor-turned-politician Shatrughan Sinha on Monday filed his nomination papers as the Congress candidate from Patna Sahib, the Lok Sabha seat he is representing for the second consecutive term having won it on both occasions on BJPs ticket.



PATNA: Actor-turned-politician Shatrughan Sinha on Monday filed his nomination papers as the Congress candidate from Patna Sahib, the Lok Sabha seat he is representing for the second consecutive term having won it on both occasions on BJPs ticket. Sinha is locked in virtually a straight contest against Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad. Donning his trademark sunglasses and full-sleeved kurta with an angavastram dyed in shades representative of the Congress flag, Sinha reached the collectorate in a grand procession. Thousands of his supporters chanted the slogan ‘Bihari Babu Zindabad’ as the procession commenced from his residence. TNS

Jaipur cardiologist covers 80 km on cycle to cast vote

Jaipur: To motivate people to live healthy life, 52- year-old cardiologist of SMS Medical College & Hospital covered a distance of around 80 km on a cycle to cast his vote in Tonk-Sawaimadhopur Lok Sabha seat in Rajasthan on Monday. “Started cycling at 4 am and reached to polling booth at Kothari School at Soda village after travelling 80 km to cast my vote with great satisfaction”, Dr GS Sharma, a senior cardiologist, told The Tribune here. The doctor also advised people to do cycling for good health. “I do cycling every Sunday as it is good for heart,” he added. Polling in 13 seats of the state is taking place on Monday from 7 am to 6 pm. TNS
