A teacher on supervisory duty at an examination centre at Chogwah in Amritsar was relieved from his duty by the Punjab School Education Board’s Chairman after finding students using unfair means during their matriculation exam there.

“The teacher, identified as Gurjant Singh, was not performing his duty as supervisor at the examination centre at Master Maniram Memorial Senior Secondary School at Chogwah in Amritsar. Several irregularities were found at the centre following which he was relieved from his supervisory duty,” said spokesperson of the board. He added that 15 students (five from Amritsar, three from Fazilka, two each from Bathinda and Budhlada and one each from Batala, Hoshiarpur and Rajpura) were today caught using unfair means while taking English exam.

Board Chairman Manohar Kant Kalohia conducted surprise checkings at various examination centres in the Ajnala, Ramdas and Chogwah area of Amritsar and caught three students using unfair means during the exam.
