Sangrur, June 19

Officials of Punjab Agriculture Development Bank (PADB) have arrested another alleged wilful defaulter, who has not been paying instalments of 10 loans worth Rs 60 lakh.

“We have arrested Sukhwinder Singh of Daska village, a nephew of former PADB director Jagwinder Singh. He had taken 10 loans worth Rs 60 lakh in 2012-13, in the name of his family members, but stopped paying instalments in 2016. The total outstanding is now Rs 76.5 lakh,” said Rajnish Bansal, regional officer, PADB.

After Sukhwinder failed to pay heed to repeated reminders, the PADB authorities procured his arrest warrants from Assistant Registrar, Moonak, on Monday. — TNS
