A day after Punjab and Haryana High Court adjourned the case pertaining to a petition challenging Suresh Kumar’s appointment as Chief Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, speculation was rife that he had offered to resign on Wednesday.

He was reported to be upset over the case not being handled properly by the government. Though Kumar did not respond to calls, sources close to him said that he would decide his future course of action after talking to the Chief Minister on Thursday.

Kumar returned from Delhi last evening, where he was with the Chief Minister. He today held a long meting with Principal Secretary to CM Tejveer Singh and Special Secretary to CM Gurkirat Kirpal Singh. A number of files in the office of Kumar were moved to his OSD’s office, giving rise to speculation that he was vacating his office.

After leaving the CMO, he worked from home and coordinated with government officials to handle Batala cracker factory tragedy. —TNS
