Drug addict killed by father in Moga village

MOGA: A 20-year-old youth, habitual of drug abuse, was allegedly killed by his father at Manuke Gill village in Baghapurana sub-division of the Moga district on Friday, police officials said today.

A 20-year-old youth, habitual of drug abuse, was allegedly killed by his father at Manuke Gill village in Baghapurana sub-division of the Moga district on Friday, police officials said today.

The deceased youth has been identified as Manpreet Singh alias Mani, who worked as a helper with a local truck operator. After committing the crime, Jagsir Singh Seera threw his son’s body on the banks of a canal on the outskirts of Phoolewala village. Seera has admitted to killing Mani and has been arrested.

Preliminary investigations revealed that Mani used to demand money to buy drugs on a routine basis. The accused was fed up as he had already sold his land and was not in a position to give money to his son anymore. So, Seera took a sharp-edged weapon and attacked his son, killing him on the spot. The youth’s mother was not at home when the srime was committed. TNS
