The Punjab Government today reshuffled 31 IPS and 82 PPS officers. Four IGPs were posted at Patiala, Ropar, Bathinda and Ferozepur, while Ludhiana and Amritsar got new Commissioners of Police (CPs). The SSPs of Muktsar and Faridkot have swapped places.
Rakesh Aggarwal, IG (Security) with the Chief Minister, is the new CP for Ludhiana in place of Dr Sukhchain Singh, who has been posted as the CP, Amritsar.
IG Jatinder Singh Aulakh will head the Patiala range which is the home district of Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh. The incumbent IG AS Rai has been posted as the IG (Headquarters) and given the additional charge of the Director, Vigilance Bureau.
B Chandra Shekhar is the new IG of the Ferozepur range in place of MS Chinna. Arun Kumar Mittal has been posted as the IG, Bathinda range vide MF Farooqui, who will be head of the PAP-II, Jalandhar. IG (Counter Intelligence) Amit Prasad has been given the additional charge of the IG, Ropar range, vide IG V Neerja, who will handle Community Policing and Women Affairs.
Faridkot SSP Raj Bachan Singh and Muktsar SSP Manjit Singh have swapped places.
Following the retirement of DGPs BK Bawa and Jasminder Singh, the government has posted DGP Inderpreet Singh Sahota as DGP (Home Guards) and Sanjiv Kalra as ADGP (Railways).
