Fatehgarh Sahib sees 65% polling

FATEHGARH SAHIB:About 65 per cent turnout was registered in the Fatehgarh Sahib constituency where polling remained peaceful, Dr Prashant Kumar Goyal, district election officer-cum Deputy Commissioner, said.

About 65 per cent turnout was registered in the Fatehgarh Sahib constituency where polling remained peaceful, Dr Prashant Kumar Goyal, district election officer-cum Deputy Commissioner, said.

The DC said EVMs and VVPAT machines had been placed in strong rooms set up at Shi Guru Granth Sahib University, Fatehgarh Sahib, and Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College, Ludhiana. These machines wouldbe opened in the presence of election observers and representatives of political parties on the day of counting, i.e. May 23.
