The SGPC has slammed the media service provider, Netflix, for its web series Sacred Games 2, in which actor Saif Ali Khan is seen throwing away his “kada” (religious symbol) into the sea.

Terming it a blasphemous act that has hurt the Sikh religious sentiments, the SGPC has asked film maker Anurag Kashyap to remove the scene at once from the second season of this web series or face legal action.

SGPC chief secretary Dr Roop Singh said that ‘kada’ was one of the five sacred Sikh symbols.

“We cannot allow anyone to play with the religious emotions of the Sikhs in any film or serial. If a Sikh character is portrayed, the makers ought to maintain the Sikh ethics and principles. The ‘kada’ is part of five ‘kakkars’ and blessings of our Gurus. No one could be allowed to disrespect it. We demand that this scene should be removed immediately or we are bound to initiate legal action against the makers,” he said.
