Razia Sultana takes stock of bus stand work

CHANDIGARH: The Transport Department, in connection with celebrations of the 550th Parkash Purb of Guru Nanak Dev, is constructing a bus stand at Sultanpur Lodhi, which will be equipped with world-class facilities.

Chandigarh, September 11

The Transport Department, in connection with celebrations of the 550th Parkash Purb of Guru Nanak Dev, is constructing a bus stand at Sultanpur Lodhi, which will be equipped with world-class facilities. The total cost of this project is Rs. 5.73 crore. This was disclosed by Transport Minister Razia Sultana, while overseeing the progress of the construction work here at Sultanpur Lodhi.

Razia said she was satisfied with the pace of the construction work and 80 per cent of the work was complete. Construction of the bus stand was started in February and would be completed by September 30. The bus stand would have eight counters. Other main attractions would be AC waiting hall, separate toilets for the differently abled, a modern restaurant, a commercial complex, potable drinking water with RO system, water coolers, steel benches, car parking, rickshaw parking and an unloading platform for luggage, the minister added. — TNS
