Rs 22-cr property attached in Nature Heights case

Jalandhar: The Enforcement Directorate today issued orders for attachment of properties worth Rs 22.24 crore owned by Abohar-based Neeraj Arora, alias Neeraj Thatai, managing director of scam-rid infrastructure development company Nature Heights.

The ED officials are learnt to be in possession of affidavits from over 500 complainants against the accused, who reportedly alleged that the duo got the investment done from them by assuring them of returning money with huge interest.

The Enforcement Directorate today issued orders for attachment of properties worth Rs 22.24 crore owned by Abohar-based Neeraj Arora, alias Neeraj Thatai, managing director of scam-rid infrastructure development company Nature Heights.

Of the total attached properties, there are immovable properties worth Rs 15.58 crore, including those in Abohar, Dhar Kalan and Madhya Pradesh. His bank account with deposits worth Rs 6.66 crore, too, has been attached in the case.

A close associate of Akali leader and murder accused Shiv Lal Doda, Neeraj Arora as well as another director in the company Amit Kakkar are proclaimed offenders, declared by a court of Abohar in 2017. The matter was reported in 2013 and the ED officials began investigating into it later on the basis of the FIR. The ED officials are learnt to be in possession of affidavits from over 500 complainants against the accused, who reportedly alleged that the duo got the investment done from them by assuring them of returning money with huge interest.

The company directors had distributed brochures inviting investments for colonies which were to be developed in Talwara, Anandpur Sahib, Gobindgarh, Mohali, Chandigarh, Zirakpur, Ferozepur, Kotkapura and Muktsar. The company neither allotted plots, nor made any refunds, with some complainants approaching consumer court and others knocking the civil court.

Bank account seized too 

  • Of the total attached properties, there are immovable properties worth Rs 15.58 crore, including those in Abohar, Dhar Kalan and Madhya Pradesh.
  • Bank account with deposits worth Rs 6.66 crore, too, of Abohar-based Neeraj Arora, alias Neeraj Thatai, managing director of scam-rid infrastructure development company Nature Heights, has been attached in the case.
