State BJP president Shwait Malik on Saturday said the Modi government had set India on rapid development track in the past four years.

While addressing a press conference here to highlight the achievements of the four years of the Modi government, he said the BJP government gave a robust foreign policy to the country. The most significant achievement had been building a closer strategic relationship with the USA.

He said the GST (Goods and Services Tax) had created a single common market in India by subsuming several different taxes into a single tax and applicable pan India. India purposed 7 per cent plus growth over the next few years. The GST would play a major role in achieving that goal.

He said in the past four years social welfare schemes had been started at a large scale. Under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojna, 31.60 crore beneficiaries had been covered.
