Anirban Lahiri fought back from a modest 71 in the first round to finish his day with a 67 and was tied-55th at 4-under. The cut fell at 3-under. Arjun Atwal fired a bogey-free 3-under 68 to get to 9-under and tied-7th to stay in the mix after the second round of the inaugural 3M Open on the PGA Tour.

Bhullar, Chawrasia, Shubhankar miss the cut
The Indian trio of Gaganjeet Bhullar, Shubhankar Sharma and SSP Chawrasia exited early from the Dubai Duty Free Irish Open after all three of them missed the halfway cut. Bhullar, who opened with a solid 67, was erratic in his second round with 75 while Sharma and Chawrasia shot identical 72-71.

Indian track and field athletes won six medals on the first day of the Qasanov Memorial Meet here. Mohammed Afsal won the men's 800m gold in one minute 49.12 sec, Gagandeep Singh won in men's discus throw with an effort of 52.39m while Senthil Kumar Mithravarun won silver with a 49.54m throw.
