Srikanth, Prannoy, Jayaram lose place in BWF ranking

NEW DELHI: Ace shuttler Saina Nehwal remained World Number 2, but Indian male shuttlers K Srikanth, HS Prannoy and Ajay Jayaram slid a place down in the latest badminton ranking.

Ace shuttler Saina Nehwal remained World Number 2, but Indian male shuttlers K Srikanth, HS Prannoy and Ajay Jayaram slid a place down in the latest badminton ranking.

In the ranking released on Thursday, PV Sindhu, who is currently defending her title at Macau Open, also maintained her position at no. 12.

However, a series of early exits have cost Srikanth, Prannoy and Jayaram as they slipped to the 8th, 20th and 25th position. An injured Parupalli Kashyap, meanwhile, wient one place up in the rankings to hold the current no. 14.

Men's doubles pair of Manu Attri and B Sumeeth Reddy improved a place to break into the top 20 once again, while the women's doubles pair of Jwala Gutta-Ashwini Ponnappa also held on to their no 12 position in women's doubles ranking. — PTI
