The patriotism of a Punjab prince



 

The Government of India in the political Department have published a letter of the Punjab Government in which it is stated that the Raja of Bilaspur proposes to exempt from payment of land revenue on certain conditions the men of his State who are employed in the Indian Army and who may hereafter be sent on field service. The Raja's letter to the Superintendent of Hills States (which is also published) prominently mentions that it is the bounden duty of the State to maintain its ancestral relations of loyalty and faithfulness with the Supreme Government and to inspire the subjects of the State with a desire to serve the Crown in every possible manner.
