The Wheat Scheme

THE Government of India have decided that it is for the present no longer necessary to maintain the scheme announced on the 25th March, 1915, for controlling the export of wheat in the interests of the Indian consumers while permitting export by firms acting as the Agents of the Government.



THE Government of India have decided that it is for the present no longer necessary to maintain the scheme announced on the 25th March, 1915, for controlling the export of wheat in the interests of the Indian consumers while permitting export by firms acting as the Agents of the Government. Prices have fallen to a comparatively low level while the demand from the United Kingdom for Indian wheat is now no longer an urgent matter. The Government of India have now decided that the normal conditions of private exports may for the present be restored may for the present be restored, subject to a maximum restriction on the quantity which may be exported.
