Gang producing fake papers for bail busted

Bathinda, January 18

The Rampura police on Saturday claimed to have busted a gang involved in preparing fake documents for getting bail to accused in the court. The police have registered a case against nine persons, including a woman.

The accused have been identified as Karamjit Singh, Surinder Singh, Aman Kumar, Gurpyar Singh, Jagtar Singh, Balwant Singh of Badaur, Munish Kumar, Pawan and Seema of Bathinda.

The police arrested Surinder Singh, Aman Kumar and Gurpyar Singh and took them on police remand till January 22. A hunt is on to arrest the other accused.

Investigating officer ASI Jagtar Singh said, the police were doing checking at Rampura, during which they got a tip-off that the accused have made a gang which took out the revenue record of lands and make Aadhaar card on that name. Later, they pasted their photos on the Aadhaar card and presented it in the court for getting bail for the accused. So far, they had got bail to many accused through fake documents and today they were going from Barnala to Bathinda in a car to get bail on fake documents. The police set up checkpoint and arrested the three accused involved in this case.
